Five humans have been onboard a vessel on the time, the Orlando Fire Department said.

One man or woman has been injured and every other is lacking after an obvious lightning strike for the duration of rowing exercise at Lake Fairview in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday night, the hearthplace branch said.

Members of the nonprofit organization North Orlando Rowing Club have been working towards withinside the water round 5:50 p.m. whilst the incident took place, the Orlando Fire Department informed ABC News in a statement.

“Preliminary reviews suggest lightning struck the area,” the branch said.

Five humans have been onboard a vessel on the time, it said, including that one man or woman has been transported to AdventHealth Orlando and a rescue project is underway to discover every other man or woman.

“We trust the scholars have been from diverse faculties in Central Florida,” the branch said.

Orlando’s dive team, the Orlando Police Department and the Orange County Fire and Rescue Department also are at the scene.
