CHESAPEAKE CITY, Md. — A Maryland public sale residence has bought a wristwatch that after belonged to Adolf Hitler for $1.1 million.
Alexander Historical Auctions in Chesapeake City had predicted the fee between $2 and $four million, describing the watch as a “World War II relic of anciental proportions.”
News retailers file that Jewish leaders and others objected to the sale this week, announcing it had little to no historic fee.
The public sale residence’s president, Bill Panagopulos, defended the public sale and stated the purchaser is a European Jew.
The watch capabilities the initials AH and a swastika. The public sale residence stated a French soldier who became withinside the first unit to shut in on Hitler in May 1945 at his Berchtesgaden retreat seized it as spoils of war.
